Job title: Lead software developer at growing health tech firm.

We are a London-based health tech company who have been operating in the UK for over 20 years. Our flagship product, AcuBase Critical Care, is trusted by many of the UK’s most prestigious hospitals to collate and analyse data, providing high quality information to further medical research and improve patient care. We are growing quickly, and are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and ambitious software developer with experience to join our team.

About the role:

• The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, multi-tasker, and demonstrated team-player. You will be a lead developer responsible for the development of existing products;
• The software engineer will work alongside team of 4 developers and support the team to design and deliver upgrades and improvements to AcuBase Critical Care which is a server client database developed on a 4D platform plus trouble-shooting queries raised by clients. This software platform is much like C++;
• The post would suit someone with significant experience in software development and training junior programmers, but who is wishing to expand their own experience.

Essential skills/experience:

• A strong command of English, both written and spoken, ideally to IELTS 7; 
• Strong logic and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work independently, but with a strong team-working and collaborative approach;
• Able to work remotely;
• Alignment with our company ethos, which puts customer first with a focus on providing a timely and courteous service to our clients.

Desirable skills/experience:

• Experience in developing software for use in healthcare environments; 
• Familiarity with ODBC, SQL commands and HL7 messaging — background on this site https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_Level_7 which are used by hospitals to interface with AcuBase Critical Care
• Experience in C++ based database software development, ideally but not essential 4D — background to this platform database https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4th_Dimension_(software) 
• Experience in developing software for mobile devices;
• Experience in handling confidential data;
• Able to work between 08:30am and 16:00pm GMT.
